Continuation of the Jeep Muster story...
29 September 2007, Saturday
The Muster this year is three days of fun and competition. They normally only run the competition over two days, but this
time as a preparation for the Jamboree next year they included trips on Saturday and Monday and the competition would be
on Sunday. Obviously, we would not go very hard because we still need to go home to Melbourne without Rodge fixing the
car again after the Muster. Therefore we were looking for an easy trip in the morning - hmmm no easy trips on the plan
besides the Beach Run which we did not want to do. All trips in the Harvey forest had been upgraded due to the wet
conditions and they do have mud - quite a lot. We signed up for a medium to hard run called Staples Line which did not
included the harder section of the pipeline. The other guys went on a hard trip with some of the JOCWA guys. We had 5 cars
including Callum and us. The tracks were nice and technical, we got a standard TJ and also a KJ through it without problems
if you put your tyres in the correct spot. Our trip leader would get hang up twice - "just to show us which line not to take".
Nice trip and beautiful country side - almost like the High Country in Victoria without the clay - good so. Just exchange the
grass trees here with our fern trees in Victoria and add some green. In the afternoon we did not go on another trip and went
back to camp. The Gang did their own trip because they wanted some more action. The action at the end, resulted in the
rollover of Widodo's ZJ - nothing bad happened, just panel damage - the car drove again at the competition next day. The end
of the day was again enjoyed around the fire and some beer and wine. Nice and easy day before the competition. By the way,
today was Grand Final day and Aaron was all dressed up in his Port shirt and looking forward to winning the Flag again.
During the day we always listened to the radio to see how the Cats were going. We are not a big Geelong supporters but
obviously have to go for the Victorian team after so many years without a win for the home of AFL. Well, what can I say the
biggest win ever in a Grand Final saw Geelong win the Flag after many, many years. Aaron was teased by everybody, but he
did not take it that bad. GO CATS !!! Below are the picture from the 4WD adventure today.

Leaving for the Muster - Vic and Ken run 35's, Rodge and OLISTJ are on 33's.

Vic starting a brand new BMW with my jumpstart cables.

28's are all around the campground and trying to steal some food. Yes, 28, is the name of the parrot.
|
Dave is snatching Ken up the hill and this is steep. We did not go on this trip, but they had some fun for the first run. All of the vehicles are quite big and very capable - including drivers.
|
Hummer Recovery Vehicle sticker - great !!! he he he.
On the right - beautiful scenery around Harvey. Callum going downhill.
|
Taking the right line for this downhill section was essential - nice drive.
