Continuation of the Jeep Muster story...

30 September 2007, Sunday

Competition day was on and everybody was looking forward to it. As I said before most of the Jeeps here are bigger and
better. Mine normally is one of the bigger and more capable ones, but here it is clearly outclassed. Aaron, Dave and Vic run
35's Simex and twin lockers and they go very hard. In addition, we are far away from home and therefore would go easy on
the competition and not do all of the obstacles. At the end of the day, we had no damages and I was really surprised about
that. I hope that lots of MJOC members are joining the Jamboree next year, even if it is at the other side of the country. The
tracks in Harvey are just fantastic and you have something for everybody including the Beach not that far away. The
Commonage is just fantastic and you will enjoy the pictures from today showing all of the obstacles and especially, the race
track. Go and have fun at the 2008 National Jamboree hosted by the JOCWA. I am sure that the Gang guys will help organise
the Jamboree and that those two groups get together to deliver the best ever Jamboree, even if it is hard to beat our Jambo
in 2004. Here are the events from today.
Callum on his afternoon trip - maybe we should have
gone. Looks nice.
Lining up in the morning.
Widodo and his panel damage from the day before. The
rear window is gone and most of the side panels are
damged, but the mirror is o.k. - strange.
Andrew's toy - CJ with a V8 - nice number plate too... he
he he, can't tell you Secret Mens Business.
Mike and
his CJ
with a V8 -
getting
ready for
action.
The first easy obstacles - drive on the log with both wheels until you fall
off - the further you get the better. Beforehand you went through a
small mud hole to make the tyres nice and slippery. How did I go? Well
look below on the left - shit !!! Maybe 20 cm and it was not the fault of
Rodge guiding me.
The Slippery Slide - a
metal hill prepared with
clay and water - not as
slippery as expected,
but if you used lots of
gas the fun was good.
Steve, Brian, Mike and
Rodge trying it. Dave
trying to make it a little
more slippery.
Rodge at the Tyre Wall.

Top Left: Terry explaining Rodge on what's the story.

Top Right: Starting point from a mud hole : filled with tyres.

Left: Second try and flooring it.

Bottom: Almost there. Nice try and no broken parts.
