Continuation of the Woody Island, Great Ocean Drive and Sammy the Sea Lion story...

20 October 2007, Saturday

Today the weather was still bad. No improvement since last night. Sometimes it would rain and the clouds would not go
away with lots of wind mixed into it. Despite the weather, we went to the Cape Le Grand NP. Nice beaches and granite
mountains. We also drove a little bit on the beach at Lucky Bay - the sand is just amazingly white and squeaky. I did not lower
the tyre pressure due to the hard sand and also being lazy, that meant a funny sideways drive along a little stretch of beach
which was slightly inclined and very close to the water - nice one! he he he - Mary did not think so....!!!  Nice little part of the
World and after having lunch at Lucky Bay, we went back to have a look again at Sammy. Before heading back just after
lunch, a 4WD passed our car in the parking area and reversed when we went back to the car. The guy wanted to take a
picture of our car to show it to PK (Paul Kelly) who he would meet back in Echuca in one week. After telling him that we know
Paul and Heather very well from the Jeep Club, he just asked for my name and because it was the same as his son he didn't
even have to write it down. This is the second time somewhere in the middle of nowhere that somebody related to a Jeep
Club member comes our way - the world is very small. Below are the pictures from today.

Cape Le Grand Beach -
nice spot and the blue sky
was still out in some
places.
